What is the Yii Framework?

The Yii Framework is a PHP application development framework. It uses MVC architecture that is commonly used among the other most popular PHP frameworks, including the Laravel framework and Phalcon framework that we also have experience with for PHP development. Our experience using both Yii and Laravel

We’ve used both Yii and Laravel to deliver expert PHP development services for our clients.

Yii can be great for rapid development of applications, with the Gii module for automatic creation of controllers, models and views it can make getting started with a basic system setup extremely fast. It is also very easy to configure the system and the ORM (the layer between the database and the main system code). Managing assets is also extremely simple.

Is Laravel better than Yii2?

Yes, Laravel is a better option for PHP development than Yii2.

Why? The main reasons Laravel is better than Yii2 are:

• Laravel has become much more popular. This means that if you ever need to swich development teams you will have many more options for great development teams that have experience with Laravel vs Yii2
• The built-in authentication system is very easy to use, and because Laravel is so popular it’s being updated all the time to stay up to date with current authentication technologies.
• The Eloquent ORM feels more intuitive to use vs the Yii ORM. in fact, this is the case with many of the Yii components, the Laravel versions generally feel easier to use making Yii feel a bit clunky
• Laravel is much easier to use with frontend frameworks like VueJs, which has also become extremely popular in recent years due to it’s ease of use vs other frontend frameworks
